Article posted on September 16, 2013
In June 2013 the first InfoComm Roundtable in Stuttgart took place. European Head of InfoComm, Godwin Demicoli welcomed about 20 participants at the Maritim Hotel.
First Juergen Moench opened the event with his keynote about the updated AV-iQ portal followed by a interesting overview about currenty activities of InfoComm Internation in Europe by Godwin Demicoli. Demicoli explained all benefits which could result from an improved and more powerful association like the InfoComm for the AV industry in Europe. Of course he mentioned a few other important topics of InfoComm like setting new standards for the industry and the CTS certification.
There was an active discussion especially about the CTS certification. What are the benefits of that certification? How to separate CTS from an academic grade like the B.eng.? What can InfoComm do to help and to improve? Demicoli underlined again, that a more powerful AV association could be helpful for the future progress of the CTS certification in Europe.
The first InfoComm Roundtable in Stuttgart was exactly what could be expected. Active discussion about the top issues of the AV industry, a lot of helpful suggestions from the market to InfoComm and last but not least, a good opportunity for networking. For sure there will be a next Roundtable in Stuttgart.
