Safdie Architects had a strong vision for a domed addition to the lobby at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. They wanted sail shades to meet in the middle of the dome, and they knew exactly what they wanted to accomplish. However, they didn't know how to engineer the solution. That’s where Draper comes into the story.
