4 Band Compressor is designed for use with high filter slopes in applications where band isolation for instrument compression is key. The displayed frequency response is true WYSIWYG. It shows the actual summing response that occurs given the current settings, so the engineer can avoid sets of values (typically narrow bands and shallow slopes) which lead to an uneven response.
