The relay contacts are made across a two position barrier strip on the outside of the RT-REL enclosure. The RT-REL can be used with any product that needs a contact closure to activate, including the Juice Goose CQR-1500, RT-15 and RT-5. A common practice for the RT-REL is to extend the capacity of the switched outlet on a rack mounted power strip or sequencer or on some other electrical component such as an audio receiver or amplifier. For example, when plugged into the switched outlet on a Juice Goose JG Series power strip the RT-REL can be used to activate a n AC power circuit in a remote location using the CQR-1500, RT-15 or RT-5.
