Life Outreach International (LOI) required a full renovation of their broadcast production infrastructure to keep pace with modern broadcast standards, to expand live production capabilities, and to streamline their media workflows. As the design and integration partner, Digital Resources, Inc. handled engineering the project from the ground up and delivering a turnkey broadcast solution. This project removed equipment which was more than 25 years old.
The Challenge
LOI’s legacy systems and infrastructure were no longer meeting the demands of high-quality 4K broadcast production. The project presented numerous challenges, including:
- Aging Infrastructure – Outdated rigging, cabling, and control systems needed full replacement which included equipment nearing 30 years.
- Complex Construction Requirements – Structural updates such as reinforcing floor support, safely removing outdated pulleys, rigging, and outdated electrical systems.
- Integration of Advanced Broadcast Systems – The need for seamless interoperability across several Sony 4K cameras, Ross Video Ultrix routing systems, Telestream live capture, Avid Pro Tools audio post-production, and shared storage solutions.
- Future-Proofing – Building a scalable system which would support UHD and IP-based workflows.
