AMX OPENS SHOWROOM IN NEW YORK CITY'S LEGENDARY TIMES SQUARE TO SHOWCASE ADVANCED PRODUCT CAPABILITIES
Posted on Monday, April 7, 2008

Showroom Will Provide Dealers, Consultants, Architects, Designers and End Users with a Venue to Learn About and Demonstrate End-to-End Technology Solutions

RICHARDSON, Texas – April 7, 2008 – Today, AMX® announced the public opening of its New York Showroom, a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility that showcases the company's advanced product capabilities to dealers, consultants, architects, designers and end users. The Showroom, which is conveniently located in the heart of Times Square, features an interactive demonstration platform for more than 350 AMX products – from the company's award-winning line of Modero® Touch Panels and NetLinx® Controllers to its AutoPatch®, Endeleo and Solecis™ Signal Management Systems and Inspired Signage Digital Signage solutions.

"The AMX New York Showroom will provide most of the Fortune 100 with a convenient place to learn about the simplicity and intrinsic value of AMX," said Rashid Skaf, AMX president and CEO. "End users who visit our Showroom will be able to experience how control and automation systems can make their lives easier while simultaneously learning about the significant and repeatable return on investment that our solutions can provide."

The entire Showroom is a live example of AMX technology at work, including five separate control systems and one redundant control system driving nearly 300 third-party products from manufacturer partners Brivo® Systems, Biamp® Systems, Da-Lite®, Lutron Electronics®, NEC®, projectiondesign® and Tandberg®, among others. In addition to the Product Showcase, which features examples from each AMX product line, the space includes a state-of-the-art Conference Room with audio and video teleconferencing equipment, a 65-inch plasma display, cable satellite receiver, DVD players and more.

Throughout the Showroom, sub-systems such as the IT and phone networks – as well as lighting, motorized shading, security, HVAC and music systems – are fully integrated with AMX's award-winning Resource Management Suite (RMS) to demonstrate real-time equipment monitoring and energy management. In total, the Showroom includes more than three miles of network, audio/video (A/V) and fiber cables.

"The AMX New York Showroom marks another first for the industry, pushing the envelope of technology and showcasing the perfect marriage between technology and design," said Jeff Kindig, AMX vice president of marketing strategy.

Extending beyond the demonstration platform, the facility includes a full-time Training Center for AMX University, the company's worldwide training program, offering Control and Signal Management classes for every level beginning Monday, April 14. The current training schedule is available at www.amx.com/training.

Last week, AMX hosted several Grand Opening events in the Showroom. The company will hold additional functions this week, including an Open House for residential dealers on Wednesday, April 9 from 9 AM to 5 PM.

"I want to personally thank all of the dealers, consultants, architects, end users and manufacturer partners who joined us in the Showroom last week for three very special days of celebration, as well as those who plan to visit us in the future. If the turnout and feedback we have received thus far is any indication, the AMX New York Showroom is going to be an overwhelming success – both for AMX and our valued partners," concluded Skaf.

The AMX New York Showroom occupies the 24th floor of Bush Tower at 130 West 42nd Street.
