AMX Announces Highly Anticipated Release of RMS Enterprise Software
Posted on Wednesday, June 15, 2011
New Version Delivers Greater Scalability Deployed on Single Servers or Server Farms, And Scaled Up to 3000 Managed Locations per Server

Orlando, Fla - June 15, 2011 - AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced the launch of Resource Management Suite® (RMS) Enterprise™ providing IT-like remote management capabilities for AV assets and building systems from a user-friendly dashboard making it easy to centralize the management and monitoring of AV equipment, lights, HVAC and other building functions. AMX will be demonstrating the RMS Enterprise software solution in booth 2525 at InfoComm 2011, being held June 15 - 17 in Orlando, Fla.

This new RMS Enterprise software version delivers unprecedented scalability. Capable of web farm deployment on up to 11 servers, scaled up to 3000 managed locations per server, with fail-over server redundancy to ensure uptime, RMS Enterprise is also remarkably innovative in that it encompasses integration of web farms, load balancing, redundancy, LDAP, auditing and more.

"RMS has found a place in a class of scalable IT solutions that are business-critical to any company's success," said AMX Chief Technology Officer Robert Noble. "AMX listened to countless IT managers and AV integrators to develop this rich application being deployed around the world and adopted by multi-national corporations as the standard for remote management of networked AV equipment and building systems."

RMS Enterprise also boasts a widget-based dashboard with enhanced graphics and navigation including visual bar graphs, Hotlists, expanded device support, energy monitoring and more. The new improved dashboard is designed to enhance performance by making it easier for IT and AV managers to proactively monitor AV devices to prevent failures and receive immediate notifications to correct unforeseeable events.

Increasingly building owners, developers, and architects are fueling the interest in sustainability due to valuable ROI and regulatory forces. RMS Enterprise raises energy consciousness by providing a platform for energy-saving, sustainable measures to automate energy efficiency, minimize carbon footprint and extend useful life of devices. The software provides more than just data acquisition; but uses the power of Adobe Flex to automatically mine and present graphical data in multitudes of ways.

"The cost-savings generated by an intelligent, green building, can be substantial and realized quickly," said Doug Hall, product manager of AMX. "RMS Enterprise gives IT manager's pro-active, centralized management through an 'at-a-glance' dashboard of components like energy consumption, device control, source usage, system status and alerts, providing the tools to significantly save environmental and financial resources."

RMS Enterprise is licensed to end users through authorized AMX dealers. AMX is also introducing a new Software Maintenance Agreement to deliver real-time software updates, access to a dedicated RMS Technical Support team for continuous backup support to ensure uptime. This maintenance agreement will be an annual contract.

AMX is also announcing RMS Enterprise licenses will be free to educational institutions that qualify, purchase the AMX Software Maintenance Agreement and maintain membership in the AMX Education Alliance Program.
