APC InRoom® Perimeter Cooling Solutions Provide Reliability and Redundancy

APC’s Leading Edge Precision Cooling Products Enable Customers to Meet the Changing Needs of Data Center Environments
AHREXPO® – CHICAGO These solutions provide high reliability for year-round operation, with the ease of service, system flexibility and redundancy necessary to keep critical technology rooms up and running.“Industry needs are affecting IT requirements at an exponential rate with variables such as increasing loads and electrical costs creating challenges for IT and facility managers,” said Dave Guidette, senior vice president, Enterprise Systems and Service, APC. “To meet these needs, APC’s complete InRoom line of perimeter cooling solutions cool up to 5kW per rack, maintain humidity, cool non-racked IT loads, and run 10 percent more efficiently than other perimeter units through the use of electronically commutated (EC) fan technology.”
APC’s InRoom Perimeter Cooling solutions enable monitoring and maintenance of temperature and humidity design conditions which is critical to the smooth operation of a data center or computer room. Tight tolerance temperature control is essential as temperature fluctuations can cause thermal stresses and premature failures in IT equipment. Low humidity can cause static discharge and high humidity can cause condensation – both extremes creating treacherous conditions for IT and networking equipment. Additionally, the APC InRoom Perimeter Cooling solutions are highly manageable with controls to ensure optimized operation, alarms to provide visibility into the health of the unit, and an easy-to-use display allowing the operator to select options from the device’s menu-driven interface to control and monitor the connected air conditioning system.
The benefits of APC’s InRoom leading edge precision cooling solutions also include:
Modular construction that allows flexibility and adaptability;
EC fan modules which increase fan efficiency by up to 30 percent while reducing operating costs;
Anti-vibration mounting to isolate the fan module from the unit structure;
Dedicated de-humidification and scroll compressors in select models to maximize efficiency;
Front service access and proactive alarm functions which make for easily serviceable units; and
A scalable design, which enables customers to meet the changing needs of their environments.
APC InRoom cooling solutions are available in both Chilled Water and Direct Expansion (DX), with the DX units being available in air-, water-, and glycol-cooled, as well as multicool and economizer options. Available in both upflow or downflow configurations, as well as a multitude of other options, InRoom cooling solutions are built to suit specific customer needs. Visitors to AHR Expo can receive additional information on the InRoom cooling solutions at APC’s booth (#6349).
