HALF-HEIGHT ASI5810 AND ASI5811 192KHZ AUDIO ADAPTERS OFFER MIC PREAMP AND GPIO

NEWCASTLE, DE (02/12/2016) Expanding it's small footprint adapter offerings, AudioScience, Inc. today unveiled the ASI5810 and ASI5811, new half-height 192kHz PCI Express sound cards that feature a microphone preamp with phantom power.

The ASI5810 provides one stereo analog and digital input, one stereo analog and digital output, two record streams and four play streams. Audio formats include 8, 16 and 32bit PCM. GPIO features consist of 4 opto-isolated inputs and 2 relay isolated outputs. The ASI5811 adds a low noise microphone preamp with a software adjustable gain.

Both analog and AES/EBU interfaces are standard on the ASI581x. The analog interface is balanced and uses 24-bit over sampling converters to deliver more than 100dB of dynamic range with THD+N better than 0.002% at sample rates from 32 to 192kHz. The AES/EBU input features a hardware based sample rate converter with a range of 32 to 192kHz. The ASI5811's balanced microphone input is designed to work with professional studio microphones requiring +48V phantom power. Gain is adjustable via software from 20dB to 60dB. Processing effects implemented on the ASI5811's 32-bit floating point DSP include a compressor/limiter/expander, and 3-band parametric equalizer.

The ASI5810 and ASI5811 represent a new benchmark for the professional sound card market said Richard Gross, President and co-founder of AudioScience. "This card is perfect for those broadcasting applications that do not require on-board audio compression, such as production. The microphone preamp allows you to create a complete low-cost recording studio which is ideal for producing spots and promos".

The adapters also features AudioScience's exclusive Multi-Rate Mixing (MRX) technology, which enables playback, recording and digital mixing of multiple audio streams of almost any sample rate to a 1Hz precision.

The ASI5810 and ASI5811 will be available in March and includes XLR breakout cables. Driver support includes Windows 10, 7, Server as well as Linux.
