Barco and Innosimulation enter into a collaborative business development agreement
Posted on Wednesday, March 26, 2014
Xenia, Ohio, USA – 26 March 2014 – Visualization pioneer Barco is pleased to announce that it has entered into a collaborative business development agreement with South Korea-based INNOSIMULATION. This relationship is intended to build upon Barco’s growing presence in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Barco’s Training and Simulation group is part of its Defense, Avionics and Training (DAT) business unit, and will lead the efforts with INNO SIMULATION, a fast-growing simulation company with offices in Seoul, Jakarta and Beijing.   The two companies recently worked together on the Korean Aerospace Industries FA-50 trainer program.

Barco deploys visualization solutions around the world to support military and civilian training simulation.  With the recent acquisition of projectiondesign, Barco now provides the most comprehensive portfolio of simulation projectors and visualization solutions available, and is coming off a record setting year in 2013 with significant growth in training systems orders.

INNOSIM was founded in 2000 and offers solutions for 3D modeling, R&D driving simulators, flight training simulators, electric motion platforms, and vehicle control systems to automotive companies, defense systems integrators, universities, research institutions, and driving schools.  The company has grown rapidly and was recently recognized by the South Korean government for excellence and commitment to the simulation industry.

“The demand for simulation solutions in APAC is growing very fast, and Barco is committed to serving our customers in the region with the very best solutions, program execution and post-sales support possible”, comments Mark Saturno, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Barco’s Training and Simulation Division.  “Essential to this effort is the need to develop strong collaboration with local partners.  INNOSIM has proven to be a very capable partner with whom we will create synergy to pursue new opportunities and optimize performance”.

Dave Scott, Senior VP and General Manager of Barco’s Defense, Aerospace and Training Division, adds that “Barco’s DAT business unit experienced great growth in APAC business in 2013.  The significance of the region is self-evident, and Barco will continue to invest to meet the increasing demands of our customers there. Our global presence is strengthened by cooperating with skilled local partners like INNOSIM to deliver cost effective, technically superior training solutions.”
