Barco - Our Flagship Laser Projector is ready to shine at Film Festival Oostende

A fan of stars, red carpets and captivating movies? If so, you should be heading to the Belgian city of Oostende! From 9 to 17 September, the renowned ‘Film Festival Oostende’ celebrates its 10th anniversary. Kicking off the celebrations is ‘Everybody happy’, the latest movie by Belgian director Nic Balthazar. Our Flagship Laser projector helped turn Oostende’s most iconic venue into an amazing movie theater – to screen the movie with the best possible image quality.

Passion for movies
Barco is passionate about the movies, just like the people who founded the Film Festival Oostende 10 years ago. We were therefore glad to help them celebrate their 10th anniversary in style, enabling them to promise visitors a mesmerizing opening night. Especially for the occasion, the concert hall at the iconic Kursaal in Oostende was converted into a cinema theater, which seats 2,000 people. Never before has a Belgian movie premièred to such a large audience!

From concert hall to premium cinema theater
“Film Festival Oostende attracts many filmmakers, directors and other movie professionals from Europe and beyond. Committed as we are to spread the word about our ‘passion for movies’, we simply had to be there to celebrate the festival’s 10th anniversary. We’re excited about the setup at the magnificent Kursaal venue. We can’t wait to see our Flagship Laser projector show Nic Baltazar’s award-winning movie with unequalled brightness, high contrast and deep, rich colors,” says Wim Buyens, our Senior Vice-President of Entertainment.
