When innovative technologies and creative minds get together, magic happens. As was the case at the recent TEDx conference in Ghent, Belgium. In close collaboration with an impressive number of different partners, our colleagues from the B.immersed team and Barco Audio Technologies helped realize an amazing presentation, with exciting video images, inspiring multimedia content and awe-inspiring 3D sound.
Ground-breaking immersive experience
Our triple-screen panoramic Escape setup helped the speaker to truly draw the audience into her ideas. 3D sound made the TED talk even more unique: our IOSONO 3D object-based sound system took the audience on a journey into 3D sound waves. “The venue, De Bijloke, has an extraordinary audio setup that features over 70 speakers. We reused that installation to drive our immersive audio system that drew the audience into a composition by Martine-Nicole Rojina, the speaker, and her musicians. We had adapted the music so that we could distribute all of the different instruments throughout the room, in true aural 3D,” explains Max Röhrbein, system engineer at Barco Audio Technologies.
When looking back upon the project, everyone involved is impressed with the achievements. We can’t wait to set up a new immersive AV experience!
