HaiVision’s Andy Vaughan to Address Real-Time Video Over IP at NAB 2010 Military and Government Summit

Expert in Military Communications Will Speak to Effective Implementation of H.264 Encoding Platforms and Systems Across the DoD Enterprise

MONTREAL and CHICAGO Feb. 25, 2010 HaiVision Network Video today announced that Andy Vaughan, the company’s Senior Director of U.S. Federal Sales, will be a panelist for the IP Video Workshop to be held during the NAB 2010 Military and Government Summit. The workshop will address the technology and network requirements necessary for high-quality video transmission in the DoD IP networks. Vaughan, who has played an active role in helping several military organizations to deploy video over IP technologies since 2002, will speak on the practical application of real-time H.264 encoding across the DoD enterprise.

“Systems enabling high-speed transport of IP video are of immense value in commercial, military, and government sectors if deployed and implemented correctly,” said Vaughan. “As a panelist at this year’s summit, I will expand on how low-latency H.264 encoding platforms and systems are used by organizations across the DoD enterprise, explaining the standards and interoperability requirements that must be addressed to get high-performance solutions in the military environment working immediately in the real world, not just in PowerPoint®.”

Vaughan is a former U.S. Air Force communications officer and network engineer, responsible for the deployment and optimization of tactical IP networks. Throughout the past 10 years of civilian employment, he has held engineering, sales, and management positions at HaiVision, Lucent, VBrick Systems, and Sonic Foundry.

The workshop on IP Video, part of the NAB 2010 Military and Government Summit, will be held on Tuesday, April 13 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Room S219 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
