Lutron Announces Time- and Money-Saving Solutions for Installers

New wireless modules eliminate the need for interfaces and wires; window sensor compensates for clouds and shadows

Coopersburg, PA (September 11, 2014) – Lutron Electronics, the leader in energy-saving, wireless lighting and shade control, is announcing two new products that will simplify the design, programming and installation of RadioRA® 2 and HomeWorks® QS control systems, and a sensor that adjusts lights and shades automatically to compensate for clouds and shadows.

The RF 0-10V module provides wireless control of a single zone of 0–10 V load from a remote mounted location, eliminating the need for 0-10V interfaces. The module offers high-voltage power switching and 0–10 V control in one device. Installers can now save valuable installation time and money by eliminating the need to run wire back to a central location. The module is available now with a $199 suggested list price.

The RF contact closure output module provides wireless control of a single contact closure output from a remote location without running wire, allowing for simpler integration of third-party equipment. Ideal for gates, pumps, shutters, projectors, and other basic integration devices, the module saves valuable installation time and money by eliminating the need to run wire back to a central location. The module fits easily into a standard junction box and is available now with a $99 suggested list price.

Both modules use Lutron’s Clear Connect® RF technology and are compatible with HomeWorks QS and RadioRA 2 systems. The 0-10V module now makes it possible to control 0-10V loads from a RadioRA 2 system.

The Radio Window™ Sensor
controls lights and shades automatically to compensate for shadows, clouds, or bright conditions, allowing homeowners to maximize energy savings. The sensor helps make rooms more comfortable based on natural light levels and improves energy savings by raising or lowering shades to optimize solar heat gain.

Shades will rise during cloudy conditions or in response to shadows from neighboring homes and buildings, and will close in overly bright conditions such as glare. The sensor can work with a single shade, a group of shades, or an entire facade and can change the behavior of keypad button programming based on ambient light levels.

The Radio Window Sensor is available now in window mount ($196 suggested list price) or mullion mount ($360 suggested list price) and is compatible with HomeWorks QS. It will be added to Lutron software this fall.
