OMNILINE PICKS UP ANOTHER PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
Posted on Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Martin Audio’s groundbreaking OmniLine micro line array has picked up another prestigious award — this time in Spain, from top magazine Producción Audio. Earlier this month it picked up the gong for Best PA Product in Spain — beating off two other major market leaders.

The success follows on from OmniLine’s InAVation Award (for Most Innovative Loudspeaker Product for Commercial Use) given by UK-based InAVate Magazine last year.

In Spain, the evaluation went through an exhausting procedure — with five original nominees eventually being whittled down to three finalists.

Thousands of readers voted in the VII Audio Production Awards — billed as “the highest award for business excellence, research, technological development and production of sound in the studio, live and large spaces, dramatic lighting and theatrical set design and visuals in big events.”

The judging panel, comprising a jury of renowned independent professionals, voted in favour of the OmniLine Array system for its revolutionary adaptation of a small format line array without columns or complications. They noted that its modular, passive concept achieved its coverage objectives and intelligibility by combining an elegant system design with outstanding aesthetics.

The formal presentation was made at a gala evening on November 3 in the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I (IFEMA), coinciding with the opening of the Broadcast 2009 expo. The gala was attended by nearly 500 audio-visual professionals.

Compering the event was Ramon Pradera, news presenter on Spain’s Antena 3 TV station (and son of the historical film-maker of the same name).

The award was picked up by Javier Puente, Trade Commissioner of Adagio.pro in Madrid (the Martin Audio territorial distributors), which was presented to him by Mariano Garcia, sound designer and manager of Sound Theater.

Commented Martin Audio MD, Anthony Taylor, “We are delighted to add yet another Award to the OmniLine trophy cabinet. This reflects the enormous amount of design that went into the development of this pioneering modular micro array, to produce a scalable, highly intelligible controllable system within a discreet footprint.”
