Media Vision USA Unveils the New HCS-8318 Multi-Media Terminal with 10” Touch Screen Control

A revolutionary new product released by TAIDEN, the Multi-Media Terminal is the first of its kind. With the entire standard feature set of a Conference System Delegate, the new HCS-8318 offers a 10” Touch Screen interface for the meeting participant to manage presentation material. The units come with various options that will eliminate the need for laptops in the boardroom, council chamber or courtroom.

The HCS-8318 joins the family of 8300 Series components, including the HCS-8307 (7” Touch Screen) and the HCS-8315 (mic array discussion unit) a culmination of three years worth or research and design, including feedback and suggestions from Architects, Consultants, CEO’s, IT Directors and more. The end result is a system that is both robust in features and simplistic in design.

Multi-Media is shared with the terminals thru a daisy-chained (closed loop optional) Cat. 6 cabling design. Up to thirty units can be run together per homerun and literally thousands can be connected to one system. Using a full suite of Microsoft Office Readers, Power Point Presentations, Word Documents, Excel Spreadsheets and more can be loaded into the terminal and displayed to others. Video files can also be shared over the system and TAIDEN video encoders can push live video signals to the terminals as well using the Gigabit Ethernet Network.

In addition to pushing video content to the terminals, built-in video cameras on each unit can push video content out to internet streaming codecs, Video Teleconferencing Codecs, external Monitors and digital video recorders. The system can even support point to point video calls between two Multi-Media Terminals.

Also introduced with the 8300 Series is an enhanced DSP back bone called, Congress Matrix™. This new feature allows the operator to assign each delegate unit to all, some or none of the eight group outputs available on the TAIDEN Main Unit. Create unique mixes for audio destinations, create a true mix-minus set up, send audio to overflow rooms or use multi-channel echo cancellers for a codec.

“The barrier has been removed on this new line from TAIDEN. Engineers now have the tools and the outputs to tweak and tune the system to the highest levels of performance no matter what venue the project is in,” said Product Manager for Media Vision USA, Wesley Sutliff. “The doors are now open for the applications requiring higher performance power from their audio systems, and the TAIDEN Multi-Media Conference Solution is ready to deliver!” Congress Matrix™ will also be available on all TAIDEN 4100 Series delegate units as the new 4100/50 Series is released at the same time. The TAIDEN HCS-8318 Multi-Media Terminal will be available thru Media Vision USA in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
