Navitar Introduces Newest Planetarium/Dome Lens for Ultra High Resolution High Contrast JVC 4K Projector Technology ROCHESTER, NY — October 22, 2014 — Navitar, a global leader in optical technology, announced today the addition of the HM4K?168 projection lens to their established line of HemiStar® fisheye lenses. The 16.81mm focal length F?Theta fisheye lens was designed to work with JVC LCoS projection
technology and specifically with the ultra high resolution JVC DLA?SH7NLG advanced 4K2K projector model using three D?ILA® 1.27” devices.

The HM4K?168 lens produces a very wide projection angle of 103° X 57° and projects the full 4096 x 2400 pixel count. It is an ideal lens solution for simulation, 3D display, theme park, and planetarium applications.

Navitar designed the HM4K?168 lens for planetarium integrators designing 4K and 8K systems. When used in a two projector cove mount installation, the HM4K?168 projection angle of 103° creates the perfect size blend area,
or (overlap), required for a seamless image to be achieved. In addition to planetarium applications, the HM4K?168 can be used within 2? to 5?channel simulator designs as well.

Donald Ehinger, Vice President Sales with Navitar comments, “The HM4K?168 is a great addition to our HemiStar line. It produces brilliant images and complements the high contrast ratio of the JVC DLASH7NLG
platform.”
