Sharp’s Commitment to Producing Quality, Energy-Efficient Products Continues with 2014 Portfolio

MAHWAH, NJ, April 3, 2014 – Sharp Electronics Corporation has received special recognition as part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) 2014 ENERGY STAR Awards for Energy Efficient Product Design. Sharp is being honored for its participation in providing valuable insight and information in ENERGY STAR’s specification revision processes for consumer electronics and by demonstrating creativity in helping EPA address and resolve technical challenges to build robust specifications.

“Sharp’s continued participation in the ENERGY STAR program is a testament to both our engineering capabilities and our commitment to energy efficiency, as Sharp remains the leader in offering the largest selection of large screen televisions in the U.S.,” said John Herrington, President of Sharp Electronics Marketing Company of America. “In 2014 all of Sharp’s 60”, 70” and 80” class Full HD TVs are ENERGY STAR qualified.”

“The success of ENERGY STAR is grounded in the daily work of our partners,” said Ann Bailey, Chief, ENERGY STAR Product Labeling. “Sharp’s efforts are helping to promote energy efficiency and protect our climate.”

The annual ENERGY STAR Awards will be held on April 29, in Washington, DC.
