Glasgow & London, UK, 22/4/2014: Having already been utilised at some of the world’s biggest sporting events, including the Football World Cup, 6 Nations Rugby and Test Match Cricket, and within some of the world’s most iconic venues, Tripleplay’s IP based digital signage and IPTV solution has been selected by and implemented at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

There are 145 Sony TV screens utilising Tripleplay digital signage and IPTV on site at The SSE Hydro and more set to be added at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in the coming months. Owing to this, Tripleplay’s digital signage and IPTV will become a very visual focus point for spectators and guests at one of Scotland’s premiere live venues.

Tony Edwards, Technical Manager for The SSE Hydro is hugely looking forward to the event; “In our debut year here at the Hydro we have had some spectacular artists and have many more booked, ranging from Eric Clapton, Lady Gaga and Robbie Williams to Still Game and the MTV Europe Music Awards.

“We also have great pride in being chosen as a venue for The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, an event that will cap off an incredible first year here at The SSE Hydro. The help we have had from Tripleplay to implement our in-venue digital signage and IPTV solution has been first class and we look forward to working with them in the future.”

Tripleplay’s solution is used to power digital signage in the concourse, bars and restaurants and on external totem displays, whilst the IPTV solution is used in corporate boxes, backstage and also in the restaurant and bar areas. The SSE Hydro can also stream auditorium footage backstage utilising the Tripleplay solution for venue management and artists.
