Many school administrators see a reduction in the use of the legacy interactive displays by Teacher - be it the SMART Board or an interactive projectors. However, with the introduction of interactive flat panels a few years ago, the need for an interactive display in the classroom has never been greater. Today, the interactive display is a learning tool, first and foremost. This pedagogical shift requires a large workspace where students can stand, collaborate, discuss, and share ideas. They are interacting with and manipulating digital objects as they discuss and work together; they can display iPad/Chromebook screens or smartphones ‘screen casted’ for discussion; it is a large multi-touch drawing and brainstorming space; and they are using it even for showing video or other content. In such circumstances you don’t need an overly large display – 65” works well in the elementary classroom.
