Grass Valley, California, 16 October, 2013 – Ensemble Designs was honored with four prestigious technology awards for its BrightEye NXT 410 Clean HDMI Router at the International Broadcasters Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, September 13-17, 2013. Broadcast Engineering named the BrightEye NXT 410 a “Pick Hit” of the show; TVB Europe named the NXT 410 as one of the “Best of IBC”; TV Technology named Ensemble Designs as a Superior Technology Award Recipient (STAR) for creating preeminent technological innovations in the media industry, and included it in their “25 Things You May Have Missed At IBC” webinar.
“ STAR awards are given to interesting new products that help a user save money or accomplish a task in an easier way,” said Mark Hallinger, Editor of TV Technology Europe. “This year in particular we also looked for smaller incremental improvements in established products, as these improvements generally reflect a manufacturer responding to customer input, a laudable thing.”
“The products selected help advance the industry – some were chosen because of technical novelty or innovation, some because they filled an important gap in the production or transmission chain, and some because they were just cool products,” said Hallinger.
“We are delighted to be recognized for our innovative design and technology,” said David Wood, President and Chief Design Engineer at Ensemble Designs. “Receiving international acclaim is such an honor, and speaks loudly for all the hard work put into the design of this new BrightEye product.”
The BrightEye NXT 410 is a compact video and audio routing switcher that allows broadcasters to use HDMI and SDI signals interchangeably and cleanly in their television productions. Slightly larger than a club sandwich, its compact size is perfect for use in helicopters, news cars, fly packs and broadcast vans.
“The interest we have received from builders of news helicopters and news cars has been phenomenal,” exclaimed Mondae Hott, Director of Sales for Ensemble Designs. “They are looking to use small HDMI cameras inside the cockpit for the reporters or pilots, and the ball turret camera to cover the news below. The BrightEye NXT 410 allows them to cleanly switch between multiple cameras, both inside and outside the vehicle, without breakup or glitches, while greatly simplifying installation and production.”
“This is the total package,” added Cindy Zuelsdorf, Marketing Czar at Ensemble. “There isn’t another compact routing switcher on the market with this much sophistication and capability. With the introduction of cameras and other devices utilizing an HDMI infrastructure, seamlessly integrating HDMI and SDI signals is something everyone in the broadcast industry is looking to accomplish. We are thrilled to receive these international technology awards for our new little router.”
The prestigious Pick Hit Awards. are the industry’s longest-running product technology awards for broadcast and production. The recipients are selected by a panel of independent judges who tour the convention floor looking for innovative products and technology.
The STAR Award is designed to celebrate and showcase the preeminent technological innovations available to the broadcast industry.
The Best of IBC award recognizes products considered innovative or industry leading displayed at the International Broadcasting Convention.
The 25 Things You May Have Missed AT IBC webinar is an annual recap that showcases products considered “must-see” at the IBC.
