Coopersburg, PA (August 14, 2013) – Lighting control pioneer Lutron Electronics has announced it has tested, approved, and added 249 dimmable light emitting diodes (LEDs) and several dimmable compact fluorescents (CFLs) to the list of bulbs compatible with its popular
C•L™ collection of dimmers.
The announcement is being made by the
Lutron LED Center of Excellence (COE), which is designed to provide the industry with a positive experience during this fast-moving light bulb transition. The COE provides homeowners, specifiers, building owners, contractors, and more with the information they need to correctly specify, install, and use LEDs in both residential and commercial spaces.
Introduced in 2010, the
C•L collection of dimmers works not only with today’s most popular light bulbs, like incandescents and halogens, but also with dimmable CFLs and LEDs, which are expected to become even more widely adopted over the next 10 years. With these dimmers, homeowners can reliably control the widest range of dimmable light bulbs available in the market today.
To the C•L bulb compatibility list, Lutron added 249 LEDs from top brands including Cooper, EcoSmart, Feit, GE, Philips, Sylvania, Utilitech, and more.
“With a continued focus on LED dimming and technological product advancement, Lutron is pleased to announce this expanded compatible LED and CFL bulb list,” said Eric Lind, Vice-President – Global Specifications at Lutron. "Not only are we simplifying the transition to LEDs, but when adhering to the list, consumers get a better dimming experience,” said Lind.
Priced from $15, the C•L collection includes Lutron Diva®, Maestro®, Ariadni®/Toggler®, Credenza® and Skylark®/Skylark Contour dimmers, as well as a dimmer/occupancy sensor combo. The collection is available at select home improvement centers, lighting showrooms, electrical distributors and at lutronstore.com.
