The MAXX-500 servers provide a wide range of recording time and video bit-rate options. They can easily match your needs, yet leave room for future growth.

The 360 Systems’ RAID technology protects stored program content, by spreading data across four server-grade drives. MAXX’s servers provide a very high level of security, to help keep you on-air, even if a drive should fail. Even then, a drive is easily replaced from the front.

The MAXX-500 servers include both analog and digital audio circuits as standard equipment; just select the format you want. All audio inputs and outputs use gold XLR connectors, which can be configured for four AES/EBU channels, or two +4 dBu balanced analog channels. Embedded audio is also standard.

MAXX's 24-bit audio provides a 20 dB improvement in SNR (10 times) compared to 16-bit servers. It includes extras, like a sample-rate converter, input circuits with excellent hum and RF rejection, and 20 dB of headroom. Plus, 360 Systems' Bit-for-Bit design guarantees that when a Dolby- encoded program is recorded, it will play back as expected.

The 360 Systems brings legendary quality and reliability to broadcasting projects. We have 37 years of experience, and 30,000 hard-disk products in service around the world. The refined design of our latest MAXX servers is based on thousands of units in service. They are offered in NTSC and PAL versions, with innovative features that handle content in many formats.

The MAXX shares content easily with the rest of the world, thanks to fast file transfers over Gigabit Ethernet. It connects easily to other servers and NLEs, or to Network Attached Storage. MAXX is able to move content across the room-or across the country-rapidly and at low cost. And of course, it supports MXF file transfers as well as IMX (D10), MPEG-2, TARGA and DV formats.

MAXX servers include a full-featured Graphic User Interface that easily controls all three video channels at once. VTR-style buttons and time-code displays give it a familiar look and feel, while keyboard shortcuts like J-K-L keys speed up every operation. You'll be able to quickly perform head and tail trims and segment network feeds for broadcast.

MAXX's combination of hardware and software provides a smooth upgrade path from video tape, and a drop-in replacement for earlier servers. It's ideally suited for weather systems, remote trucks, graphics storage, extra digital channels, and production centers. MAXX
