AmpliVox Sound Systems Recognized by U.S. Congress

AmpliVox Sound Systems has been honored with special recognition on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, applauded for its success as a small business and its commitment to community involvement. Bob Dold, representative for the 10th District of Illinois, commended AmpliVox on February 29, 2016 during a public session and his remarks were entered into the Congressional Record.

AmpliVox, based in Northbrook, Illinois, has a long track record of support for non-profits on a local, state, and national level. The company has provided donations of equipment to a variety of causes, including breast cancer organizations, Special Olympics, the Red Cross, the North Suburban YMCA, and others. AmpliVox’s CEO Don Roth has received numerous awards for his leadership, including Daily Herald Business Ledger Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards for Regional Spirit and Lifetime Achievement as well as the Special Olympics Illinois Hero Award. Most recently, AmpliVox was honored as 2016 Business of the Year by the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce in recognition of its company values and business success.

In his statement to Congress, Representative Dold described AmpliVox’s outstanding accomplishments. “AmpliVox has been providing the community with innovative sound systems since the 1950s and has grown to become an industry leader,” said Dold. “In the past five years, the company’s revenue grew by over 60 percent.”

“Most admirably,” he continued, “throughout this growth, the company has not lost sight of the community it serves. CEO Don Roth sets an example for small businesses across the Nation through his integrity, visions, and emphasis on community involvement. Small businesses like AmpliVox are truly the backbone of our economy and our communities.”
