AV/IT Convergence and Security Pioneer Honored for His Service in Guiding AV Integration Engineers

ORLANDO, FL – June 17, 2015 – At InfoComm 2015, AMX®, a member of the HARMAN professional family congratulates its own Paul Zielie, Jr., who was recently presented the prestigious 2015 InfoComm International Educator of the Year Award. Presented annually for outstanding achievement in AV education, this honor highlights important contributions made by an individual to the professional development, education and training of the AV industry. AV Award winners are selected by the InfoComm Awards Committee for contributions that have impacted audiences worldwide. Paul and other recipients of this year's awards were honored at a celebration, during InfoComm 2015 in Orlando.

In addition to his full time career as Manager of Enterprise Solutions at AMX, during 2014, Paul developed and taught several courses for InfoComm International and Integrated Systems Europe, as well as conducting numerous training sessions on AV/IT convergence and security. Paul is also the primary author of the updated InfoComm "Networked Audio Visual Systems" course, a key component of the AMX-sponsored Networking for the AV Industry program. Paul spent over 200 hours developing this course to ensure the project's aggressive timeline was completed in time for InfoComm University 2015. The course includes approximately 20 hours of new content as well as updated course objectives, exercises and job aids to reflect the changing roles and responsibilities of the AV Integration Engineer in regards to Enterprise AV.

Paul Zielie, CTS-D has over 30 years of experience integrating systems in the IT environment and over 20 years of experience designing and integrating telecommunications and audiovisual (AV) solutions. He is an expert in: Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, Multipoint Control Units (MCUs), video streaming, and large format (Video Wall) displays and the integration of these applications into secure enterprise environments. Paul has designed, installed, certified and maintained both classified and unclassified VTC and Command and Control facilities in a variety of environments supporting thousands of users and authored the AMX AV/IT Administrators Guide, the most downloaded white paper in AMX history.
