New Touch Panel Family Is Ideal For Cost Effective Control and Scheduling in a Wider Variety of Locations and Environments
ORLANDO, Florida – June 12, 2013 – At InfoComm 2013, visitors got their first glimpse of the newest AMX® Touch Panel family and kid brother to the Modero X, the new Modero "S" Series. Modero S perfectly complements the sleek design of the Modero X but is more applicable for cost sensitive installations such as smaller huddle spaces and wall scheduling outside conference rooms. And because it features new AMX SmoothTouch™ glass overlay technology, the Modero S is an ideal choice for environments where gloves must be worn.
While dedicated control, scheduling, 24 bit color depth, streaming video functionality and other popular Modero features will certainly be important considerations for many interested in the Modero S, it is also ideal for situations where the touch panel must be operated with direct finger touches as well as indirect touches like a gloved hand, stylus, or prosthetic. The SmoothTouch glass overlay also employs a greater tolerance to electrical noise and in combining resistive touch and glass into a single overlay is also more rugged than capacitive touch glass overlays. The Modero S will be available in 10.1", 7" and 4.3" models in both tabletop and wall mount configurations. It will also feature a new multi surface mount which allows it to be installed in more diverse mounting surfaces such as glass and granite.
Modero S Touch Panels also include the popular red and green room availability indicators on either side of the panel to offer a visual indication of a room's occupancy status. But we took our previous indicators to the next level – Modero S indicators feature an elegant light bar for enhanced visibility. A simple scheduling interface is also included to effortlessly view and create events right at the touch panel rather than having to waste time getting to and fumbling through scheduling applications on PCs and mobile devices. And the Modero S Series features the same Modero X secure mounting options just announced for the newly enhanced Modero X Series, which discourage theft with the option of a secure Lectern/Table Mount mounting.
