‘The Bombardment’ director Ate de Jong is excited that he was able to mix his film in Barco’s Auro 11.1 format. “Seeing as our movie is filled with dramatic flyovers and enveloping war scenery, this revolutionary sound format is the perfect fit for it,” he comments. Gerben Kuipers, owner of CineMec, agrees: “Moviegoers will have the feeling they’re right in the middle of the 1940 bombardment in Rotterdam.” 

In contrast to the traditional single layer 5.1 sound format, the Barco Auro 11.1 sound format creates sound in three distinct layers: surround, height & overhead. “In fact, Auro 11.1 is the next logical step in our quest to create value for what we call the ‘cinema of the future’.
