TICO OPENS BIAMP SYSTEMS LEARNING CENTER IN CHENGDU, CHINA
Posted on Thursday, May 30, 2013
BEAVERTON, Oregon — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems, is pleased to announce that TICO, Biamp's distributor for Mainland China, has opened their new learning center in the Chengdu Technology Exchange Center in Chengdu, China.

The TICO learning center is specifically designed to meet the needs for high-level technical trainings in the Biamp Tesira® and Audia® product families. This center provides AV integrators in the region with a local training and education resource for Biamp DSPs and networked service capabilities. The product trainings will integrate the concept of technical services as part of larger strategic planning.

The center was designed with innovation in mind, as it is equipped with a high-definition projection display system, a powerful network switching system, and includes both AVB and CobraNet® audio control networks. Each seat in the learning center has its own PC, ensuring a consistent training experience every time. Dual HD monitors are provided that enable each student to clearly see the instructor's presentation, as well as product software diagrams throughout the course. A mix-minus voice-lift system was also installed, with a high-quality gooseneck mic for each student, and a multi-zoned ceiling speaker system so that every word is clearly heard. A recording booth in the rear of the facility is wired to capture HD audio and video from the projection system and cameras installed throughout the room.

Steve Metzger, Biamp Systems President and CEO, attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Biamp's North Asian Regional Director, Matthew Packer, and Greater China Regional Manager, Wayne Cheung. They were joined by TICO Chairman, Zhou Zhou.

"We are humbled by TICO's commitment to building the industry through education," said Matthew Packer. "The investment they have made in this learning center illustrates they're strongly committed to their partnership with Biamp."

"Introducing leading technologies to the marketplace can only be done through highly effective education," said Zhou Zhou. "We've learned from Biamp that education is made most effective through a quality learning experience, and that is what we aimed for in the planning of this center, from the acoustics to the furniture."
