Black Box Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Certification
Posted on Friday, December 4, 2009

The upgrade to the new standard is part of the Company’s ongoing commitment to quality.

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, December 4, 2009 — Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX), a leading
provider of voice services, data infrastructure, and product solutions, today announced it has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification for its U.S. operations. This achievement marks the Company’s fifteenth consecutive year of ISO certification.

ISO 9001:2008 is globally regarded as the most comprehensive body of standards on quality management systems and practices. It was established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an organization of national standards institutes of 162 countries and the foremost authority on quality standards. The ISO 9001:2008 standard clarifies existing requirements of the previous standard, ISO 9001:2000.
“We’re proud of our achievement with this ISO certification. It represents our dedication to continuous improvement and quality in every product and service we provide,” said Louis A. Gorga, director of operations for Black Box. “For us, quality isn’t just a buzzword; it is the driving principle of everything we do.”

In addition to its U.S. operations, Black Box’s Canadian, European, Latin American, and Pacific Rim offices are
ISO 9001 certified, giving customers the assurance of consistent quality around the world.

Achievement of ISO 9001:2008 is independently audited and certified. Black Box’s certification was issued by Intertek Testing Services NA, Inc., an international leader in systems certification, and the testing, inspection, and certification of products and commodities. Intertek has an extensive network of more than 1,000 offices and laboratories in 100 countries.
