Black Box Achieves ISO 9001:2008 Re-Certification

PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA, December 20, 2011 — Black Box Corporation (NASDAQ:BBOX), a leading communications system integrator dedicated to designing, sourcing, implementing and maintaining today’s complex communications solutions, today announced it has been re-certified to the ISO 9001:2008 Standard for its U.S. Operations. This achievement marks the Company’s eighteenth consecutive year of ISO certification.
ISO 9001:2008 is globally regarded as the most comprehensive body of standards on quality management systems and practices. It was established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), an organization of 162 national standards institutes and the foremost authority on quality standards. Certification is dependent upon a quality management system that includes management responsibility, resource management, product realization, measurement, analysis and improvement.

ISO 9001:2008 re-certification is independently audited and certified. Black Box’s certification was issued by Intertek Testing Services NA, Inc., an international leader in systems certification, and the testing, inspection and certification of products and commodities. Intertek has an extensive network of more than 1,000 offices and laboratories in 100 countries.
