OTTAWA, Ontario and PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania – August 26, 2013 – Building on the joint success from their longstanding partnership, Mitel® (Nasdaq: MITL; TSX: MNW) and Black Box Corporation (Nasdaq: BBOX) have expanded their relationship to provide cloud-based communications, collaboration and customer care services. Under the new agreement, Black Box will market, sell and support cloud communications services powered by Mitel nationwide in the U.S.
“We’ve seen explosive growth in the cloud with Black Box, increasing our joint business by more than 50 percent this past year. Customer demand is only increasing, providing a tremendous opportunity to accelerate our cloud momentum. To seize more growth, we have extended our partnership to include MiCloud, our suite of cloud solutions that deliver a comprehensive set of communications, collaboration and customer care services which are built on our own flexible cloud platform,” said Joe Vitalone, executive vice president of Sales, Americas for Mitel.
The MiCloud suite includes cloud-based contact centers, Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), hosted PBX, business-class mobile service and videoconferencing. Because the Mitel MiCloud solution is built on a single stream of software, Black Box customers have the flexibility to take advantage of a public, private or a hybrid cloud solution based on their business needs. Black Box will continue to provide clients with their unique portfolio of system design, implementation and 24x7 technical support capabilities while leveraging skilled technicians and network operations centers across the U.S.
“We continually evaluate our service offerings to ensure that we are providing the highest quality and most technically advanced communication systems that the market and our worldwide clients demand. We believe that Mitel’s highly flexible MiCloud suite achieves that goal, and concluded that the combination of Black Box services and Mitel technology creates a very compelling cloud communication solution for our clients. From organizations migrating to the cloud to those optimizing their existing cloud infrastructure, the Black Box solutions powered by Mitel provides the flexibility and rich business benefits that help our clients to succeed,” said Michael Laughlin, Black Box’s Vice President, Strategic Relationships.
