Bosch Holds First Annual BPS Day in Morrilton, Arkansas

On June 4, 2010, the Bosch Security Systems plant in Morrilton, Arkansas held its first annual BPS Day, with games and prizes for all employees.

The largest U.S.-based factory acquired by Bosch during the acquisition of Telex Communications, the Morrilton plant manufactures world-class professional audio products – most notably Electro-Voice loudspeakers and components. The site also supports an After-Sales Service Department and Central Distribution Center for U.S. customers.

The BPS Day started with a graduation ceremony for all associates who completed Project Genesis training program -- a pilot program to introduce BPS processes across all areas of the facility. Ten modules are included in each training cycle: Orientation, 5S, Standard Work, Milk Run, Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), Point CIP, Environmental Health and Safety (HSE), Bosch House of Orientation (HoO), and Functional Training. Three training cycles have been completed, with 40 full-time associates graduating to date. A fourth training cycle is scheduled for the third quarter of 2010.

In order to help the associates gain maximum benefit from the BPS training, Genesis graduates and staff members led the Morrilton team in seven rounds of games focused around BPS principles and cross-functional team building. The games were set up on a Milk Run schedule and included trivia, Pictionary, puzzle runs, waste walk, Bosch HoO pyramid, matching Bosch values, and future state layout. Points awarded corresponded with BPS goals for the year, and the highest scoring teams won a variety of prizes. To cap-off this successful team-building event, all participants signed a BPS Day banner – now proudly displayed in the facility.
