The Crestron Drivers Software Development Kit (SDK-CD) provides a platform for developing drivers to operate consistently and easily across Crestron solutions. The SDK allows manufacturers to integrate devices with various Crestron hardware, including 3-Series® control systems3, 4-Series™ control systems, and Crestron Virtual Control (VC-4) server-based control systems, using popular communication protocols like IR, Serial, Ethernet and HDMI® (CEC) communications.
The Crestron Drivers SDK provides developers with libraries and files to create drivers for use within the Crestron ecosystem, including Crestron Home® OS, .AV Framework™ software, and SIMPL or SIMPL#Pro programming. This ecosystem consists of Crestron control systems for commercial and residential applications. Drivers provide connectivity between the control system and a device. The SDK provides a complete development environment for integrating custom third-party devices into Crestron solutions.
