Hampton, New Jersey – November 17, 2008 – Kramer Electronics, a worldwide supplier of innovative and reliable signal management products, today announced the release of its 900xl power amplifier for line-level stereo audio signals with RS-232 control. The 900xl is extremely compact, easy to set up, and provides external control capabilities via RS-232. Because of the ability to remotely control the 900xl in a system, it is a perfect solution for Professional AV applications including presentation rooms and multimedia applications. It is also suitable for local audio amplification or for personal audio listening from a PC, portable CD player, or other audio device.

 

The Kramer 900xl accepts a stereo audio signal either on RCA connectors or on a 3.5mm mini jack.  It delivers a speaker output of 10 watts RMS per channel into a 4-ohm load on a 10A 4-pin terminal block connector. The 900xl front panel includes two input selection buttons, audio gain buttons for volume control, and indicator lights for power and for overheating warning protection. Switching between inputs, choosing a preset audio level including mute and ramping the audio level up and down can be controlled by PC or other controllers using serial commands via the RS-232 port.  The 900xl is equipped with a 12V DC power source.
