Kramer Introduces New Twisted Pair Transmitter and Receiver

New additions to Kramer TOOLS™ Line Send and Receive Computer Graphics Video, Audio and RS-232 Signals

Hampton, New Jersey– March 24, 2009 – Kramer Electronics, a worldwide supplier of innovative and reliable signal management products, announced the introduction of the TP-125 computer graphics video, audio and RS-232 over twisted pair transmitter and the TP-126 computer graphics video, audio and RS-232 over twisted pair receiver. The two units join the company’s TOOLS line of compact solution products.

Ideal for presentation and multimedia applications, the TP-125 and TP-126 are designed for long-range computer graphics video, audio and RS-232 control data distribution in schools, hospitals, and security and retail applications. Twisted pair technology allows cost-effective, high resolution video, audio and other signals to travel over long distances.

The TP-125 transmitter converts computer graphics video, unbalanced stereo analog audio and RS-232 control commands to a twisted pair signal, and transmits them over CAT 5 type twisted pair cable to the TP-126 receiver. The stereo analog audio signal is converted into a digital audio stream before transmitting; preserving the signal source quality.

The TP-126 receiver converts the twisted pair signal back into computer graphics video, unbalanced stereo analog and RS-232 control signals. The TP-126 provides simultaneous unbalanced analog stereo and S/PDIF (24-bit, 48kHz) digital audio output derived from the original unbalanced stereo analog audio signal. The RS-232 signal capability of these models allows for bi-directional data flow, allowing status requests and control of virtually any device over a transmission range of more than 330 feet (100 meters).

The products support resolutions up to WUGXA (1920 x 1200), are HDTV compatible while offering a system range of up to 330 feet (100 meters). The TP-126 offers level (gain) and EQ (peaking) control for the computer graphics video signal. It also has the capability to change the polarity of H and V Sync.

The TP-125 transmitter offers one computer graphics video input on a 15-pin HD connector and one audio analog 3.5mm mini jack input, along with one RJ-45 output connector. The TP-126 offers one RJ-45 input connector, and one computer graphics video output on a 15-pin HD connector. Audio outputs on the TP-126 include an RCA connector for S/PDIF digital audio and a 3.5mm mini jack connector for unbalanced stereo analog audio. The units have an audio bandwidth of 20Hz – 20kHz @.05dB and a signal to noise ratio of <-80dB.

The TP-125 transmitter and the TP-126 receiver are available through authorized Kramer Electronics resellers worldwide. The TP-125 and TP-126 each have a U.S. list price of $495. Complete production information may be found at www.kramermatrix.com .
