Ideal Digital Audio Switching Solution for the Broadcast and Post Production Markets

Hampton, New Jersey– November 17, 2009 – Kramer Electronics has released the 6502 high-performance switcher for S/PDIF digital audio signals. The unit takes any one of four inputs, provides reclocking and equalization and distributes the signal to two identical outputs. The 6502 is an ideal digital audio switching solution for use in video broadcast studios for on-air switching and signal routing as well as for use in non-linear editing suites and video production studios.

The 6502 S/PDIF audio switcher is compatible with EIAJ CP1201, IEC-60958, AES3id and S/PDIF standards and features a 32 kHz to 192 kHz sample frequency range. It includes equalizing and reclocking of incoming data for low jitter recovery of the digital audio data stream.

The 6502 is 5V DC fed and is housed in a compact Kramer DigiTOOLS® enclosure. The unit can be controlled via input selector buttons, or remotely via RS-232 serial commands transmitted by a touch screen system, PC, or other serial controller as well as by the optional Kramer RC-IR2 Infrared remote control transmitter.

The 6502 S/PDIF digital audio switcher is available through authorized Kramer Electronics resellers worldwide and carries a list price in the U.S. of $395.00. Complete Kramer product information may be found at www.kramermatrix.com.
