Lumens New Software Suite Delivers New UC Features, Plus Enhanced Remote Control, Monitoring and Management Tools

Hsinchu, Taiwan, July 6, 2023 – Today, Lumens® Digital Optics Inc. launched three applications adding significant features to its range of media processors and cameras. The software meets the demand of agile organizations to centralize management and control of AV, video and UC equipment.

Lumens Camera Controller

Camera Controller enables computer-based control of its Lumens IP and USB cameras, including HD, 4K, auto-tracking, Dante AV-H and NDI-enabled models. The software allows for the up-to 16 live feeds to be monitored via a single window. Camera pan, tilt and zoom mechanisms can be remotely controlled, with presets saved and triggered. Advanced functionality such as auto-framing and auto-tracking can also be configured and activated.

Secondly, Camera Controller provides remote management of cameras at the individual or group level.

"Camera Controller automates and centralizes many of the routine tasks that have previously required many hours' work, especially in large installations. This complimentary software will immediately reduce costs, improve system security, and help AV teams get the most out of their camera technology." Said Steven Liang, Head of Product Development at Lumens.

Deployment Tool 2.0

Lumens Deployment Tool 2.0 dramatically speeds up the installation and management of Lumens devices over the network. Saved configurations can be rolled out to multiple AV processors, PTZ and box cameras, meaning synchronization of settings such as the streaming format, output frequency, color temperature and firmware version. Passwords, security updates and firmware upgrades can be applied efficiently over the network, significantly accelerating routine administration tasks.

"Now supporting IP cameras as well as media processors, users can remotely install, monitor and manage all production, switching, encoding and recording hardware via a single app. Deployment Tool 2.0 will accelerate many routine tasks and even deliver energy-savings by centralizing power settings." Noted Liang.

Virtual Camera 2.0

Lumens Virtual Camera 1.0 enabled PTZ and block cameras to be connected to video conferencing platforms over IP instead of USB. This facilitated camera integration onto the IT network, remote management and the use of inexpensive Ethernet cabling.

Virtual Camera 2.0 now adds a virtual audio driver with audio delay, UVC control, and Microsoft WHQL Certification for Windows 10 and 11 support. As well as offering up-to 20% lower latency, the application enables dynamic source switching, giving remote viewers and excellent conferencing experience. Finally, as Virtual Camera 2.0 now supports Lumens Media Processors so that multi-channel switching can be incorporated into video conferencing sessions or played out via computer-based streaming solutions.

"Virtual Camera 2.0 advances the audio-visual experience on video conferencing platforms, with users able to deliver a greatly improved user experience, and enhanced meeting equity for remote users." Liang concluded.
