21st Century IPTV and VOD services for Australian Care Home
Posted on Monday, March 17, 2014

Sydney, Australia, 17/3/2014: Pathways’ Sailor’s Bay Care Home in Sydney, has implemented a modern, Smart TV IP television and in-room entertainment solution from Tripleplay for use by residents of the facility.

The IPTV facility includes Foxtel PayTV and free to air TV channels as well as Video on Demand (VOD) access functionality and database; with VOD used for both entertainment and staff training.

The Tripleplay in-room entertainment portal also incorporates a full electronic programme guide (EPG), PVR functionality and, through integration into MyMedia by Shodogg, incorporates bring your own device (BYOD) and bring your own content (BYOC) features.

Uniquely, Tripleplay has also integrated the ability for family to remotely share pictures and videos with family in the Pathways’ property. Meaning that even if family cannot visit loved ones they can still share events and special moments; all accessed through the in-room TV.

Tripleplay Australasian Managing Director, Jamie Hind, is delighted to have been chosen to provide a solution at Sailor’s Bay; “The facility here is exceptional, the services being offered to residents are world-class and it is great for Tripleplay to be a part of that.

“We’ve worked hard with several technology partners on this project and are proud of what we’ve achieved with the Pathways team. We’re looking forward to further strengthening our relationship in the future.”

Pathways’ solution incorporates 123 rooms on site, as well as a cinema room and communal TV areas, with in-room TVs being linked into communications platforms to allow residents to make service requests via their remote control.
