Posted on Monday, November 18, 2019

Connecting the power of digital pen/ink/paper with AI, IoT and 5G to introduce new value in education, business, creative community and stationery

Wacom Co., Ltd. – joined by partners from around the world – will host the Connected Ink in Roppongi, Tokyo, on November 27, 2019, to promote the innovation and wide adaptation of digital stationery.

This year’s Connected Ink will feature exciting exhibitions and speakers from business and academic fields; such as new products and devices featuring Wacom’s pen technology and E ink’s (Taiwan) electronic paper, optimized solutions for municipality offices and retail, a concept supporting dementia diagnostic testing applying digital pen and ink, findings from a research on behavior of handwriting and the opportunities EdTech (Education Technology) presents for the future of education.

Ideas and innovations unimaginable prior to the digitalization of pen and ink have emerged as promising solutions by Wacom and its partners. Initiatives to be introduced during the event include the application of digital ink to VR (Virtual Reality) and MR (Mixed Reality) and a new work style realized by linking design creators to 5G mobile networks, as well as an exciting co-development of smart home interface with mui Lab and a proposition for a whole new form of communication combining digital pen and ink with AI technologies (Artificial Intelligence).

Presentations by award-winners of Inkathon™, Wacom’s open innovation platform for application development utilizing WILL™(Wacom Ink Layer Language) ink technology , will also be shared with participants, opening dialogues on new use cases and various topics contributing to the progress of Digital Transformation (DX) in today’s society.
