Tech Specs

Free the audio from SmartTV on-demand content with the RX-70-4K-ARC HDBaseT receiver supporting ARC or optical audio return to enable digital audio to be sent back to a compatible WyreStorm HDBaseT transmission device, such as an H2 model matrix switcher. With HDBaseT transmission handing the distribution of video, HD audio, power and control, and support for the latest 4K standards, the RX-70-4K-ARC is compatible with full 4K@60Hz 4:2:0 over distances up to 70m/230ft and 1080p@60Hz/48bit up to 100m/328ft, including two-way IR and serial control. The real trick in this box of tricks is enabling digital audio from a display device such as SmartTV to be sent back through the receiver to the transmission device for distrubution.  Even older (not-so-smart) TVs are able to get in on the act by outputting audio to an TOSLINK S/PDIF input, enabling any TV with an optical output to send its audio. The flexibility doesn’t end there, with the RX-70-4K-ARC offering switchable Audio Return Input options between ARC and a locally connected source, with two S/PDIF outputs offering local ARC and audio breakout of a remote source distributed from the matrix. That’s a whole lot of audio switching options for something so compact – luckily switchable RS-232 for control or firmware updates and LED panel indication to instantly identify unit power, signal status and quality and HDCP presence helps makes the whole installation experience even more convenient.
