New Medical-Grade and Referral Monitors Deliver Accurate Information, Improve Patient Experiences

Today’s healthcare professionals are being asked to do more and improve patient experiences in their facilities.  The impetus is the Affordable Care Act, which is driving dramatic changes in radiology and other modalities, including the establishment of new payment models that encourage cost-effective care and performance-based incentives based on quality.

To help healthcare organizations address these changes, NEC Display Solutions of America announced two additions to its MultiSync® MD Series portfolio today.

The 3-megapixel, 21.3-inch MD210C3 is an affordable diagnostic monitor designed to meet the needs of healthcare facilities using Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) in diagnostic imaging.  The 32-inch MD322C8 is an 8-megapixel, Ultra High-Definition clinical monitor which features four times the resolution of Full HD. Both monitors are calibrated at the factory to the DICOM grayscale function for luminance.

MD210C3 Benefits

  • Includes a front sensor to maintain calibrated brightness, elevating the level of trust that medical imaging personnel have in the display’s performance
  • Features a human sensor that reduces the LCD brightness when a doctor leaves his or her desk, saving power and extending the life of the display

MD322C8 Benefits

  • Designed for calibrated, stable brightness, color accuracy and high pixel density, creating opportunities for pathology and surgical suite applications
  • Includes an Open Pluggable Specification (OPS)-compliant option slot compatible with 3G / HD / SDI input cards, giving institutions flexibility in installations and future-proofing their investments

“The MD210C3 is an affordable 3 megapixel color diagnostic alternative with a high-quality panel and competitive specifications,” said Art Marshall, Product Manager for Professional Desktop and Medical Displays at NEC Display Solutions.  “Together with the new MD322C8 8 megapixel clinical display, the MD210C3 underscores NEC’s commitment to giving medical imaging professionals the tools they need for accurate readings and improved patient experiences.”

The MultiSync MD210C3 and MD322C8 displays are available at an estimated street price of $4,299 and $6,399, respectively.

The displays, which are being demonstrated today through December 4 at RSNA 2014 (NEC Display Booth No. 6538) in Chicago, ship with a five-year limited parts and labor warranty, including Advanced Overnight Exchange, which is one of the best warranties in the industry.

NEC Display also announced the availability of the CC-i1Pro2 traceable calibration sensor for medical applications at $995.  Compliant with the latest medical monitor regulations and procedures, the traceable sensor comes with a certificate of conformance and the ability for recertification.
